Which browsers does OSCEpilot support?

OSCEpilot is tested on the latest two versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari, and Firefox on desktop and mobile, with JavaScript enabled and a stable internet connection. For Avatar Mode and Colleague Mode we recommend Chrome or Edge, where microphone access and WebRTC streaming are most reliable.

Why does Avatar Mode ask for microphone permission?

Accepted Answer

Avatar Mode is a live voice-and-video OSCE station, so your browser needs microphone access to send your spoken responses to the AI simulated patient. If you blocked the prompt by mistake, open your browser's site settings for OSCEpilot, set the microphone permission to Allow, and reload the page before starting the station.

Can I use OSCEpilot on a phone or tablet?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Text Chat Mode, Skills Studio, Study Hub, and analytics work well on mobile and tablet browsers, and most trainees use these for quick rehearsal on the go. For full Avatar Mode and Colleague Mode sessions we recommend a desktop or laptop with a wired or stable Wi-Fi connection, since they stream live audio and video.

I can't log in or I've forgotten my password — what do I do?

Use the Forgot password link on the /login page to send yourself a reset link to the email you signed up with. If the reset email does not arrive within a few minutes (check your spam folder) or your account appears locked after several failed attempts, contact us via /contact or the in-app chat and we will help you regain access.

My audio or video broke during an Avatar Mode station — what happens to my credit?

Accepted Answer

If a station genuinely fails to deliver — for example the avatar will not load, audio drops out before any meaningful exchange, or you cannot reach the post-case analysis — open /contact or the in-app chat with the case name and approximate time, and support will investigate and may refund the credit at OSCEpilot's discretion. Once a station has been started, transcripts accessed, or AI analysis generated, those credits are considered spent.

How do I report a bug or get technical support?

The fastest route is the in-app chat or the /contact form on /help-and-support — please include the page you were on, the case or mode, the device and browser, and a screenshot if you have one. Email is currently disabled during the OSCEpilot launch period, so /contact and the in-app chat are the only supported support channels.

Is my OSCE practice data private and GDPR-compliant?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Personal data, transcripts, and post-case analysis are processed in the UK under UK GDPR by Pears Research Services Ltd (company number 15951875, registered in South Yorkshire), as set out at /privacy. Practice transcripts are processed by our AI providers under data processing agreements solely to generate AI patient responses and your post-case analysis.

Can I delete my account and my practice data?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You have full data rights under UK GDPR, including access, correction, export, and deletion of your OSCEpilot account and associated practice data. Submit a request via /contact or the in-app chat and we will action it in line with the timelines described at /privacy.

How do I sign up?

Accepted Answer

Sign-up is free at /signup and does not require a payment card. You only pay when you choose to buy credits to run practice stations.

Question 10

What is the best practice mode to start with?

Accepted Answer

Most candidates start with a Text Station at 1 credit to get used to the MRCEM OSCE format and feedback structure, then move to Avatar Mode for voice and video-style rehearsal. You can browse and launch stations from /case-selection once you are logged in.

Question 11

Is OSCEpilot subscription based?

Accepted Answer

No — OSCEpilot is pay-as-you-go credit based. There are no monthly plans, automatic renewals, or recurring charges; you buy credits in GBP via Stripe and spend them on whichever practice modes you choose.

Question 12

How long do credits last?

Accepted Answer

Credits last 3 months from the date of purchase, and the oldest credits in your account are spent first. Any unused credits simply expire at the end of that 3-month window.
